signed and dated: "F. Ringel 73"
He was a founding member of the group Wirklichkeiten (transl. realities) and usually painted human figures representing motifs from the depths of the human unconscious or classical Greek literature. In the seventies, Ringel deals with the paintings of the mental and psychopathological art. His strong-colored paintings, which are mostly interrelated with umbilical cords, are close to L'art brut and Dubuffet. This work is from the series of hermaphroditic sex monsters. Peter Gorsen calls them figurative psycho-painting.
