Wolfgang Tambour was born in Vienna in 1951, where he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts. In the beginning he specialized in panel painting in old master oil-tempera mixed media. From 1999 on his artwork made a turn to realistic abstractions. More recently landscape paintings are in the center of his work. Tambour's printing techniques are etching, aquatint, copper and zinc etching and linocut. His works were already exhibited throughout Germany and Austria.
