Szymon Olszowski, born in 1985 in Katowice, Poland, studied graphic design and media design at the New Design University in St. Pölten. His versatile artistic oeuvre spans photography, typography, painting, and graphic design. Olszowski lives and works in Vienna.
In Olszowski’s works, clear lines, bold color applications, and playful forms merge into a powerful visual language. The combination of freely placed color accents and dynamic composition patterns creates a harmonious interplay of form and color. In his fragmentary images, lines and colors flow smoothly into one another, but just as quickly dissolve again. This creates an ever-expanding pictorial space that defies a fixed perspective, drawing the viewer into a shifting visual experience.
Chance plays a central role in his creative process. With an open approach to image creation, Olszowski shows a particular sensitivity to intuitive forms. “It is the interplay of constant change and the unplanned in the drawing process that creates an organic flow,” he describes as the essence of his creative work.
