Malala Yousafzai, Pakistani child rights activist, was born on 12 July 1997 in the Swat Valley in Pakistan. Malala's father, a well-known educational activist and director of a private school that also taught girls, promoted his inquisitive daughter since earliest childhood. The eleven-year-old blogs on a BBC website. On October 9, 2012, Taliban stopped their school bus and shot her in the head and neck from close range.
